WELCOME to the idyllic village of Heydon where Karl & Cindy invite you to relax in their award-winning traditional tea shop and enjoy a delicious cream tea or sample one or more of their homemade cakes and scones. Or perhaps you would like something a little more filling, a home-made soup or a light lunch from the menu.

We are open all year round but please see our Opening Times for seasonal changes and our latest Covid-19 advice below.

*Covid-19 Update*

After Boris's most recent announcement on Saturday 31st October... we will not be closing our doors!!! We will, however, have to operate in a different format until we are allowed to reopen our seating areas. We will be open as usual on Wednesday 4th November from 10-4...

From Thursday 5th November, our doors will remain open from 10am - 2pm Wednesday to Sunday for a limited takeaway service (hot & cold drinks, slices of cake, sausage rolls, scones, soup etc)... people are still allowed to go out for exercise and what a beautiful place we have on our doorstep to do just that...

We will also be offering a collection & delivery service on those days, this will be for preorders (24 hours notice please) for whole and half cakes, scones, sausage rolls and traditional afternoon teas, please either call the tea room on 01263 587211, mobile 07783657386, email cindy.watson@sky.com or direct message us on facebook or instagram...

We should (very, very soon!) also have links from our website to enable you to order online (including gift vouchers!)

We're so grateful, as always for your continued support. Thank you xx

Important opening information

Bookings (indoors and out) are limited to a maximum party size of 6 people. Bookings are recommended.

As you can imagine, things are a little different. We'd like to take this opportunity to ask for your patience and co-operation as new procedures outlined by the Government, are as new to us as they are to you.  To maintain social distancing, we have had to reduce covers inside the tea room by almost 40%, therefore bookings are advisable especially at peak times. We will be operating with a slightly reduced menu, but also lots of tea room favourites.

We have followed Government guidelines to make our tea room  as safe as possible for all of our customers and staff, we have put the following measures in place:

*We have put in sanitiser points at each doorway and an additional one in the bathroom lobby. Please ensure you use these during your visit.

*All staff will be required to wear a face covering / visor

*Reduced indoor capacity by 40%

*When good weather allows, open all doors and windows to increase ventilation and encourage use of outdoor seating areas

*Sanitise all furniture / menus / sugar bowls after use

*Increase cleaning schedule for bathroom area and frequent touch points

*All staff to be temperature checked prior to work each day

*Any customer entering the building will also be temperature checked (non contact)

*All customers entering the building must now wear a face covering unless seated at a table

*It is now law for us to take and keep customers contact details for 21 days, after which the information will be destroyed

Please, please, if you or anyone in your household has any Covid-19 symptoms, do not visit, stay at home.

Anyone not respecting staff or customer safety or our new guidelines, will be asked to leave
